چکیده

Silymarin is having antioxidant and membrane stabilizing property and acts as a defensive material in different toxic forms of liver diseases like liver cirrhosis, alcoholic liver disease. Pullulan is a good water soluble neutral linear polysaccharide consisting of α-1,6 linked maltotriose residues. It is broadly used as a food additive and is considered to be safe for human use. In the present study, silymarin was coated with pullulan acetate nanoparticles (S-PANP’S). The particle size of pullulan acetate (PA) and silymarin loaded pullulan acetate nanoparticles (S-PANP’S) was estimated by photon correlation spectroscopy and the in-vitro release of silymarin was carried out in PBS 7.4 pH; toxicity of the SPANP’S was studied using zebra fish embryo. This study revealed that pullulan acetate might be useful as a vehicle for anti tumour drugs like silymarin. B. Cholesterol-Modified Amino-Pullulan Nanoparticles as a Drug Carrier: Comparative Study of Cholesterol-Modified Carboxyethyl Pullulan and Pullulan Nanoparticles

To search for nano-drug preparations with high efficiency in tumor treatment, we evaluated the drug-loading capacity and cell-uptake toxicity of three kinds of nanoparticles (NPs). Pullulan was grafted with ethylenediamine and hydrophobic groups to form hydrophobic cholesterol-modified amino-pullulan (CHAP) conjugates. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance were ...

Pullulan-based nanoparticles as carriers for transmucosal protein delivery.

Polymeric nanoparticles have revealed very effective in transmucosal delivery of proteins. Polysaccharides are among the most used materials for the production of these carriers, owing to their structural flexibility and propensity to evidence biocompatibility and biodegradability. In parallel, there is a preference for the use of mild methods for their production, in order to prevent protein d...

Evaluation of pullulan-functionalized doxorubicin nanoparticles for asialoglycoprotein receptor-mediated uptake in Hep G2 cell line

The present study discusses evaluation of pullulan-functionalized doxorubicin nanoparticles for asialoglycoprotein receptor-mediated uptake in the Hep G2 cell line. Doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) nanoparticles using polymers of different hydrophobic character, polyethylene sebacate (hydrophobic) and poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (intermediate hydrophobicity) with high entrapment efficiency an...

Effect of inhibitors of endocytosis and NF-kB signal pathway on folate-conjugated nanoparticle endocytosis by rat Kupffer cells

The regular accumulation of nanoparticles in the liver makes them hepatotoxic and decreases the circulation time, thus reducing their therapeutic effect. Resolving this problem will be significant in improving bioavailability and reducing side effects. In this study, we reduced the phagocytosis of epirubicin (EPI)-loaded folic acid-conjugated pullulan acetate (FPA/EPI) nanoparticles by Kupffer ...

In Vitro Cytotoxic Activity and Binding Properties of Curcumin in the Presence of β-Casein Micelle Nanoparticles

Curcumin (CUR) is the active curcuminoid with many physiological, biochemical, and pharmacological properties. Solubility and stability of CUR is the limiting factors for realizing its therapeutic potential. Bovine β-casein is an abundant milk protein that is highly amphiphilic and self-assembles into stable micellar nanoparticles in aqueous solution. β-Casein nanoparticle can solubilize CUR mo...
